Happy New Year!

Hey friend. *head nod* What’s up? What is going on with you in 2016? As we go into the new year I have some new adventures to look forward to.  Very exciting. I’m going to start SNHU (Southern New Hampshire University) online degree program for Creative Writing for my bachelors degree. I’m looking forward to getting this done.  It doesn’t matter how long it takes to achieve your goal, as long as you’re working towards it and enjoying the journey. I signed up to do the DLP (Documented Life Project) again. Looking forward to putting some art in my life … Continue reading Happy New Year!

Tis done

I have no motivation to continue with this blog. I’d rather commit my time to my other two blogs: mainerchick.com (which will encompass my health and wellness too) and my art blog. Please go there and subscribe to one or both. Or find me on various other social media sites. I don’t feel like this journey is turning out how I envisioned. I feel by adding the stress of HAVING to write about it is detrimental to me achieving my goals. I need to just do it and not talk about it. I recently did a small hike around Thorncraig … Continue reading Tis done

Google’s new Community

I set up a ME FIRST community for the participants of ME FIRST to discuss their experiences.  Discussion topics mimic the 5 areas of the program, a general chit chat area, & a Hello my name is… area for meet & greet.  I hope that this becomes something useful for everyone.  Drop by, ask to join, help make our community stronger across the state.  Host a hangout, exchange recipes, fitness tips, music you use, & such. Journaling in ME FIRST

Apparently we’re going to be doing some food journaling in the near future.  I’m really bad at that. I rather take a photo of it & see what I’m consuming.  I’ve done that in the past and realized I ate way too much. However with logging my food by hand I have a harder time & never get things correct. I also have tried Spark People/Pages & Fitness Pal both with no luck with this.  I had bought a Moleskine fitness journal, but haven’t had much luck with it and I’m not really digging it.  I can log Excerise, diet, … Continue reading Journaling in ME FIRST

Living in Maine’s 100th post

Because this relates to my goals in ME FIRST also, I’ve reposted my 100th post from Living in Maine. I’ve been wracking my brain as to what to write for my 100th post for about two weeks now. I know I’m making a bigger deal about it than it really is.  I figured it out while shoveling snow.  Recap & reflection of 2012 and goals of 2013. What happened this past year? In January I got my dog back which was very helpful to me, however in April I had to put her down due to cancer. In May I … Continue reading Living in Maine’s 100th post

Me First ~ I got in!

The State of Maine has an employee program it developed a few years ago called MEFirst.  This is to help people with high risk to become more healthy and fit.   Your BMI needs to fall above a specific number to even be considered for the program, unfortunately mine is at 35.1currently. It had been close to 37 at one time.  I filled out the registration, they sent me the paperwork, & they drew my name to be a participant for this year.  I’m very excited.  My boss also was picked. I took the online health assessment required by our insurance, … Continue reading Me First ~ I got in!
